Artist Biography
Hello! My name is Austin Cathey and I'm a contemporary artist living in Carrboro, North Carolina. Originally from the mountains of Western NC, in 2015 I graduated from UNC Asheville with a BFA in Drawing. From 2017-2018, I was the first Emerging Artist Apprentice Member at FRANK Gallery in Chapel Hill, NC. In 2020, during the midst of the catastrophic pandemic, I graduated from Miami University of Ohio with an MFA in painting/printmaking. I currently maintain a studio at the Eno Art Mill in Hillsborough, NC and I manage the Gallery and Gift Shop for the Hillsborough Arts Council.
